Just a quick note about hole size in irrigation tube. The holes in my tube are almost exactly the same size as a paper clip. I think I wrongly stated in a previous post that they were the size of a pencil lead. Not a huge difference but a difference none the less. Also Blanc mentions the size in millimeters in his description from Dwell which I reposted in an earlier post.

Hi
ReplyDeleteI really think that you need to take a trip to your nearest irrigation store. Emitters by the mile with different flow rates, along with filters, pumps, timers, and a million other purpose made dodads that would make this project a hell of a lot easier and are readily available at a very inexpensive price. Some dealers also sell related hydroponic gear.
I agree Janet that going with emitters is probably a better way to go. I have mentioned that in previous posts. Never the less my wall has been up and running for over a year now with a plastic tube with holes drilled in it. For some people this will be the cheapest best alternative. Especially for people experimenting with smaller walls on a budget. Do you have specific experience with emitters that you'd like to share? I'd be happy to make a post about emitters if you'd like to write it. Please email me at m (at) blackcross.cc.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Matt
